Supervisors will be able to manage time off requests, time cards and scheduling for only their direct reports. Any staff member you wish to assign as a Supervisor must be assigned a Supervisor role in both the Employee Records and Time & Attendance permission settings. Supervisors will also need to have their staff assigned to them as their direct reports.
Account Admins can also have employees assigned to them as direct reports using the same steps below.
Note: Whenever an employee requests time off, an email notification will be sent to the employees Supervisor. If one is not assigned, then the email will go to the account owner by default.
How to set up a Supervisor role:
1. Click on Settings from the quick links section on the dashboard and then click on Permissions.
•Note: Only account owners and Admins can make these adjustments.
2. Next, click on Manage Permissions for Employee Records or Time & Attendance.
•Note: The following steps must be done in both of these sections to work correctly.
3. Then scroll down until you find the Employees In Each Role section. Find the employee you wish to designate as a Supervisor and click the pencil icon to edit their role. Select the Supervisor role and then click save. Be sure to complete this step in both the Employee Records and Time & Attendance permission settings.
After this is done, the designated staff member will now have Supervisor access in Personelle.
Assigning Employees To A Supervisor As Direct Reports:
After a staff member is designated as a Supervisor, the account owner or an Admin will need to assign employees to them as their direct reports.
1. Go to the employee Directory from the main navigation menu and select the profile of the Supervisor you want to assign direct reports to.
2. Click on the Job tab and scroll down until you see the Direct Reports section.
Note: You will only see the Direct Reports section in their Directory Profile if the staff member is fully assigned as a Supervisor in the Permission settings for Time & Attendance and Employee Records.
3. Click the pencil icon to edit the Direct Reports section and a drop down menu option will appear. Use the menu to select the employees you want to assign to the Supervisor as Direct Reports and click save when done. After the employee is added to the list, they will officially be assigned as that supervisors Direct Report. You can also click on the X next to the employees name to unassign them from the selected Supervisor.
You can also assign individual employees to a Supervisor directly from the employees Directory Profile. This can be done by going to the Supervisor prompt in the Job tab of an employees profile.
1. While in the Job tab of an employees directory profile, click the pencil icon to edit the Supervisor section. Use the drop down menu to select the Supervisor you wish to assign the employee to and then save. After this is done, the employee will officially be assigned as the Supervisors Direct Report.
Note: If the desired supervisor is missing from the drop down menu, then they likely still need to be assigned a Supervisor Role in the Employee Records and Time & Attendance permission settings.
