After staff members are assigned an Admin or Supervisor permission level role, you can assign direct report employees to them from the directory. This will mark the assigned supervisor or admin as the selected employee's manager/supervisor and give them access to manage various aspects of the employees assigned to them.
Supervisors must have employees assigned to them as their direct reports in order for them to manage the employee within Personelle. Supervisors cannot assign direct reports to themselves and will need the account owner or an admin to assist them with this.
To assign direct reports to yourself, an admin or to a supervisor, follow these steps...
1. Make sure the staff member you want to assign direct reports to is correctly set up as an account admin or supervisor in the permission level/ role settings. You can not assign direct reports until this is done.
2. Click on the directory and select the profile for the Admin or Supervisor that you want to assign direct report employees to.
3. Then select the Job tab of their directory profile and look for the 'Direct Reports' section.
Note: You will not see this direct reports section if the selected staff member is not correctly set up as an Admin or Supervisor permission level role.
4. Click the pencil icon to edit the direct reports section.
5. A menu will open with a list of employees. Select the employees you wish to assign to the admin or supervisor and then click save when done. Any employee you selected here should now be assigned as a direct report.
You can also assign direct reports to an admin/supervisor directly from each employee's directory profile. To do this, follow these steps...
1. Click on the directory and select the profile for the employee that you want to assign a 'manger/supervisor' to.
2. Click on the job tab of their profile and look for the supervisor section.
3. Click the pencil icon next to the supervisor section to edit it.
4. A menu will appear with a list of staff members who currently have Admin or Supervisor permission level roles. Select the Admin/Supervisor you wish to assign the employee to as a direct report and then click save. The employee will then be assigned as their direct report.
Note: If the Admin or Supervisor you are looking for is not coming up in the dropdown menu, then they likely still need to be assigned an Admin or Supervisor permission level role.
